I am beyond thrilled to announce the arrival of the VO Guide Forum, a free community for the voice over industry. Everyone is welcome, and all that's required is for you to sign up and play nice 🙂
There are few traditional online forums available for the VO industry. The Facebook Groups have taken over. If you're like me and you aren't a fan of Facebook as well as Facebook Groups, then hopefully you will be as excited as I am to see this forum come to life.
This is an extension of the main VO Guide website, which now has a Forum link at the top of the page (main navigation area) that links here. Because the two are separate, if you're registered at the main site as a voice actor, your login won't be the same here. You'll need to create a separate account.
Please help spread the word. The more people that are here asking questions and providing answers, the stronger this community will be.
I'm also looking for moderators to help police it. If you're interested, please reach out to me.
You'll also probably notice there's not much here (yet). That's because I just launched it Sunday August 16th. Please post your tips, ask questions, start polls, and if you have any ideas for new forums (or "tags" as they're called here), I'd love to hear from you.
As far as rules go, the only ones I have at this time:
- You can only have one account.
- You cannot use it for commercial purposes to promote your product or service. There's a strict zero tolerance policy and your post(s) will be removed without warning. And if you persist, your account will be banned.
- Be nice to each other. I know we all have bad days and there's no reason to take it out on someone else with your keyboard courage. If you feel this coming on, step away and don't reply. Come back the next day after you've recomposed your bad self 😉
- Most of all, have fun sharing and helping others!
You can add links to your website and social sites from your profile, and that will help you with marketing and SEO!
Welcome to the Forum!
